PT Tech Days returns with three expert-led presentations giving plastics professionals a focused, accessible way to dig into the topics that matter most. Up next for 2026: Material Substitution.
As regulations force a shift away from certain substances, including PFAS, and ongoing trade conflicts or natural disasters disrupt supply chains, savvy processors work with their customers for contingency plans to ensure there’s no material-related production disruption.
In this Tech Days, learn strategies for finding and evaluating potential replacement materials and additives, as well as how to create multi-source supplier schemes and intelligently and cost effectively inventory raw material and production for customers.
Your ticket includes access to a full recording after the event airs live.
Planning for Material Disruptions: Developing and Qualifying
Drop-In Alternatives
This presentation will discuss strategies for identifying and qualifying backup plastic materials that can serve as "drop-in" alternatives when supply-chain disruptions, regulatory changes or material discontinuation threaten production.
It will examine why materials with similar datasheet properties are not necessarily interchangeable and the key material, processing and performance characteristics that must
be evaluated.
The presentation will also address the importance of qualifying alternative materials before a disruption occurs to minimize production delays, tooling changes and unexpected
product failures.
